Quick Easy Seating Change...

I hate making new seating charts...it is so hard to look at all of the combination of students who talk. And then there are those few students who can talk to anyone...I learned from a fellow math teacher how to quickly change seats daily, giving the students new people to work with, not making it a challenge for you, and it makes the students happy (most of the time) 

Take a plastic tile and use a Sharpie to write one big number and a small number. One number refers to the group number, the other the seat number. Have the students pick a tile and find their new seat! On the tables (or chairs) write the group number at the front of the table and the seat number at each corner. Silver or Black Sharpie works!
